Beginner Climber
Start bouldering!
I have started bouldering in the local gym and I love it. For the next two months I want to put my energy towards training there during the week.
Progress: 20 / 15
What a wonderful experiment.
I have wanted to try climbing for a while but I did not expect to get this hooked. Climbing is now the best part of my day.
Lessons learned:
- I love climbing
- Try more new things
Long Sunday session. Went to a different gym than usual and had a blast.
Sent a bunch of problems at my current level. Worked on one for quite a while and finally managed to send it just before going home.
Good morning session.
Tired arms but sent a new level!
Another good morning session. Idk what is going on but I felt happy and energized after an hour of so of climbing. Left the gym with a big smile on my face.
First (and only) climb this week. Have waited excitedly for it and the session delivered - I enjoyed it immensely.
Reason for not climbing more this week has been some back problems. Hopefully they are gone now and I can get back to climbing more.
Goal achieved! 🎉
I have now climbed 15 times - and not once did I have to push myself to go. I more had to hold myself back to let my body recover.
This has been a wonderful start to a new sport. And a good experiment. Training is so much easier when it is something you enjoy doing.
Before this experiment, I had been thinking about trying out climbing for a while. But I had to push myself to take the first step and see what it was about. I was nervous. I knew I would make mistakes and look stupid as a beginner. But I overcame it and I'm so glad I did.
That is my main takeaway from this experiment - trying out new things is scary but so worth it when you find something you love. It would have been so easy for me to just keep doing what I was doing. And never discover this new world.
To more experiments and beginner experiences.
Finally back climbing for the first time this week. I hiked in the weekend into monday afternoon so needed a bit more rest this week. But more than that I had some back issues that prevented me from working out and climbing.
I'm glad to be back climbing. Enjoyed a wonderful morning session today.
Another great session. Finally sent the problem I have worked on for several sessions. Felt awesome.
Great early afternoon session. Redid a ton of blue problems and had a blast - so much so that I now think blue is my main level. Previously I was climbing orange and trying out some blues.
I also sent a new blue problem and had further progress on one problem that is really challenging me - I think I may have it next time.
I just did 3 sessions in a row. And it felt okay. I was of course a bit tired today but I had a fine small session. I even had a bit of progress on a though problem.
Good session. I taped up my hand and it worked just fine. I think maybe I can already start to feel a tiny bit of endurance improvement - I was able to climb longer and still had some stamina to do harder climbing during the session.
Short session as my hand started bleeding. My previous session messed up my hands a bit and they were not healed fully. I really wanted to climb more.
A longer session. Maybe my longest to date. Went to the gym in Aarhus Nord for the first time.
Absolutely loved it. Surprised myself and sent a few new problems I did not think I would be able to do. Had a smile on my face the entire session.
3 sessions this week. I want to climb more but I need to rest as well. Having so much fun.
Went in the morning. Managed to solve multiple new problems. Two or so I had struggled with before and two new ones (or something like that - I did so many I don't even remember clearly).
Really enjoyed it. And great progress.
Went in the early afternoon. More people than I expected. Still a good session.
My body was feeling it from the day before so I took it easy. Still managed to climb some new problems though.
Went in the morning before work. Loved it.
